1/5/2024 0 Comments Smith micro amberlightThe organic down-conversion material then emits radiatively at a rate above nonradiative FRET rate, effectively stopping a reverse transfer process. The most significant benefit using OLEPs instead of phosphors as down-conversion materials is that the efficiency of the color conversion can be significantly enhanced through a nonradiative Förster resonant energy transfer (FRET) mechanism, (5-16) which cannot be achieved using any existing phosphors. OLEPs can therefore simplify the process of fabricating white LEDs, which is particularly attractive to industry. (5) Unlike any existing phosphors which are normally prepared in a form of grains with a typical size of tens of micrometer, OLEPs can be dissolved in a solvent, obtaining homogeneous microstructures simply by means of standard spin-coating techniques widely used in the field of semiconductor optoelectronics. The issues of self-absorption are also eliminated by using OLEPs as a result of their intrinsically large Stokes-shift (>100 nm). A resulting hybrid device therefore features the respective high-performance electrical properties, ultrafast response and photoluminescent (PL) quantum yield of the inorganic and organic material systems, (4) expecting to demonstrate superior performance to current state-of-the-art white LEDs. The basic arrangement achieving white light emission involves the partial down-conversion of an electrically injected blue InGaN/GaN LED by yellow OLEP. A hybrid organic/inorganic III-nitride white LED therefore combines the complementary advantages of the two major semiconductor material groups. (3) OLEPs however suffer from a number of fundamental problems, in particular poor electrical properties. ![]() ![]() Furthermore, the much faster response times of organic materials, in comparison to existing phosphors, offers particular advantages in ultrafast Li-Fi. Organic light-emitting polymers (OLEPs) have been developed rapidly in recent years due to a number of advantages, such as high luminescence efficiencies, solubility, low cost manufacturing and flexibility. (1) A receiver however would typically use blue filters to remove the slow-response of the phosphors’ yellow light, (2) resulting in a significant loss (∼50%) to signal intensity. Furthermore, another fundamental limitation for the utilization of such a white LED is due to the very slow response time of phosphors, typically on the order of microseconds, restricting the bandwidth to below 1 MHz for Li-Fi applications. However, the approach has a number of drawbacks, such as the self-absorption of the phosphor, limiting the color-conversion efficiency from blue to yellow wavelengths and thus severe color rendering issues, the issues on quenching and stability of the phosphors, and so on. So far, the current state-of-the-art remains founded on the well-known “blue LED + yellow phosphor” approach, depending on blue emission from InGaN/GaN LEDs radiatively pumping down-conversion phosphor materials that provide longer-wavelength yellow emission that generate together white lighting. The last two decades have seen tremendous progress in developing solid-state lighting, based primarily on III-nitride semiconductors. ![]() In this case, a white light source of special characteristics is required in order to meet the multiple-function requirements. An optimized white-light EL emission is achieved with typical CIE color coordinates at (0.29, 0.32).Īnalogous to the technological development of the conventional telephone to smartphones, lighting is expected to experience a similar evolution leading toward “smart-lighting” that is utilized simultaneously in general illumination and ultrafast high-bandwidth visible light communication (VLC, i.e. This results in a typical FRET efficiency of 16.7%, where the FRET interaction area accounts for approximately 0.64% of the remaining blue-emitting inorganic LED, but enhancing total device efficiency. A reduction in the recombination lifetime in the InGaN/GaN blue active region has been observed with the hybrid device, confirming the nonradiative FRET process occurring between the InGaN/GaN blue active region and the yellow organic polymer. ![]() The hybrid LED geometry significantly enhances proximity between the inorganic active-region and the down-converting yellow organic light-emitting polymers (OLEPs), enabling the near-field nonradiative Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) process with high efficiency while retaining excellent electrical characteristics of an unpatterned planar LED. An electrically injected hybrid organic/inorganic III-nitride white light-emitting diode (LED) has been fabricated by using a two-dimensional (2D) microhole array structure.

It's also a lot easier to get into than Europa Universalis as you can start small and build up like you would with Civilization, rather than just being thrown straight into the fire like Europa Universalis. You can see the heavy influence of Europa Universalis (as it's made by the same studio), though a game that starts in 2200 can't go along known, historical lines. Stellaris is good, though you said you didn't like science fiction. Europa Universalis 4 has a ton of DLC, though if you want it all, it's about $238 on Steam right now, and that's with the package discount. They also push the game hard along historical lines, to the extent that playing them is a totally legitimate way to learn history. The Europa Universalis games are much heavier on diplomacy as a way to avoid micromanagement, and have pretty simple combat. That's just the nature of a game when you start out as one kingdom out of 150 or so, most of which are aware of many of their neighbors, and the others are making alliances all over the place. Europa Universalis games have a very steep learning curve, as they basically have to just throw you straight into the fire and let you wipe out horribly until you figure out what to do. The Civilization games tend to seriously bog down in micromanagement, too. Civ 5 was even a common game for video card benchmarks because it managed to run badly on everything. There's no excuse for an overhead view 4X game to seriously struggle on high-end hardware, but both 4 and 5 did in their own ways. I've ignored 6, but both 4 and 5 had major problems with being poorly optimized. I'll chime in on the series that I have played, though. I'm not the biggest 4X fan, so there are a lot of major games that I haven't played. 1/4/2024 0 Comments Ventyx focalpoint suitestudies leks are a focal point of lesser prairie-chicken habitat, individuals do. When biped hominins moved to an open savannah environment, they had a thermoregulatory advantage ( Wheeler 1991). ![]() Hominins were scavengers, and bipedalism was a necessary adaptation that enabled migration for sufficient food by scavenging ( Sinclair et al. Upright hominins were able to forage longer in the open sun ( Wrangham 1980). Bipedal threat display and appeasement behavior were important for the peaceful resolution of intragroup and interspecific conflicts ( Jablonski & Chaplin 1993). A terrestrial feeding posture, rather than walking adaptation, was important for bipedalism ( Jolly 1970). Bipedality might have evolved for food transport in a dry savannah habitat ( Hewes 1961). Upright posture and bipedal gait were useful for vigilance against predators ( Day 1986). Use of tools compelled hominins to stand upright ( Washburn 1960). Many hypotheses and ideas have been put forward to explain bipedalism. The origin of bipedality has remained a matter of interest for over a century. Language seems to have emerged long after bipedalism, which allowed the brain grow larger at the Homo stage. Other important characteristics such as the use of tools and fire are considered to have achieved after the establishment of bipedalism, which liberated hands from walking. Especially, the first three are considered to constitute basic key factors of the origin of humans. Several characteristics separate humans from other primates: bipedality, hairlessness, a family as a social unit, a large neocortex, small canine teeth, uses of tools, fire, and language, culture and civilization, and so forth. Bipedalism and hairlessness are disadvantageous traits only those who could survive trials and tribulations in cooperation with family members must have been able to evolve as humans. A single mutation in animals with scalp hair is known to induce hairless phenotype (ectodermal dysplasia). Molecular and paleontological dating indicates that CLCA existed 6 Mya, and early hominin fossils show that they were bipeds, indicating that humanization from CLCA occurred rapidly. Sexual relations irrespective of estrus cycles might have strengthened the pair bond. The mother would have sexually accepted her partner at any time as a reward for food. The male partner would have to collect food and carry it to her by hand to keep her and their baby from starving irresponsible and selfish males could not have left their offspring. Her activities would be markedly limited. A hairless mother would be forced to stand and walk upright. All primates except humans can carry their babies without using their hands. A hairless mutation introduced into the chimpanzee/human last common ancestor (CLCA) 6 million years ago (Mya) diverged hairless human and hairy chimpanzee lineages. Three major characteristics distinguish humans from other primates: bipedality, practical nakedness, and the family as a social unit. ![]() VMware View Transfer server requires LSI Parallel virtual SCSI adapters.
